Privacy Statement

TripsBook maintains information about trips that are being planned and trips that have been taken in the past.  The following information is collected and maintained.

  • A Trip object which is identified by its name and start and stop dates

  • A Location object maintains information about places to visit on a trip including:

    • Location Name

    • Street Address

    • Phone Numbers

    • eMail Address

    • Website

This information is associated with a particular trip and can be entered by the app owner manually or by accessing the user’s Contacts or by accessing locations from previous trips. If the app owner deletes the trip the location information is not deleted, so that it may be available for future trips. However the user does have the ability to delete location information independently.

  • A Route Plan maintains a sequence of locations in the desired order for the trip. The app owner can may create many route plans in determining the best route.  The user can enter different information during planning, such as Start & Stop times to and from location; notes pertaining to places along the way, such as dinner reservation times, etc. During the trip the user has the ability to enter actual start & Stop time, expenses and odometer readings.

  • Turn by Turn directions between locations are maintained and available to the app owner for those situations where WIFI or cellular my not be available.  These directions are obtained by integration with Apple Maps. While taking a trip the app owner can send location information to Apple Maps for interactive turn by turn navigation.

This information is stored locally in the app.  It can be shared with the app owners IOS devices using the app owner’s iCloud’s private database.  The app owner can also choose to create shared database to share trips with other appleIDs that have TripsBook.  Once the information is shared it becomes local to the other user.  The original user can stop sharing, but cannot retract the information that was shared. It is up to the user to decide if this is acceptable.

No other information is retained or shared other than what has been discussed above.
